Nicholas P. Whitney joined AndersonGlenn’s Jacksonville office in early 2018 and focuses his civil litigation practice on aviation and maritime law, catastrophic personal injury cases, professional malpractice, and civil defense. Mr. Whitney is a 2015 graduate of Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, he served on the Environmental Law Review and played hockey on the Harvard Law School/Medical School team.

During law school, Mr. Whitney clerked in the San Francisco office of a global firm and assisted with corporate and hedge fund matters. He also clerked with the Boulder, Colorado office of a regional firm, assisting with a variety of civil litigation issues. Mr. Whitney began his legal career at a large Jacksonville law firm focused on civil litigation and transactional real estate, and subsequently joined a real estate development firm as General Counsel, where he was involved in the development of large mixed-use properties.

Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Whitney served for 10 years as a U.S. Navy pilot and earned the Air Medal for combat flying during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed tours in Kaneohe, Hawaii and Naples, Italy, and deployed with the USS Port Royal to conduct anti-piracy and surveillance operations. He is an FAA-rated Airline Transport Pilot and is licensed to fly both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

Mr. Whitney continues to serve in the US. Navy Reserve as a Judge Advocate General assigned to the Navy’s Southeast Region, a command that oversees 18 military installations from Texas to Florida to Cuba.

Life Beyond the Bar

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Melissa, and his two young kids, Jack and Amelia. His hobbies include surfing, swimming, gardening, and recreational flying. Nick supports the Community Presbyterian Church in Atlantic Beach.
