Steve Morgan
Not Licensed in Florida. Mr. Morgan provides legal services in the State of Texas.
Steve Morgan joined AndersonGlenn, LLC “of counsel” in 2008. He
began his career at the law firm of Moriarty and Lyendecker in Houston TX,
where he practiced in the areas of tort and administrative law.
Mr. Morgan attended law school in St. Petersburg, Florida at Stetson University
College of Law. During law school, Mr. Morgan worked for the State Attorney’s
Office in the Elder Law and Construction Fraud Division. While attending Stetson,
Mr. Morgan served on the Moot Court Board and was elected to the Student Bar
Association. As a first year student he was a finalist in the oral advocacy competition
and was a recipient of the Florida Bar’s “Lion of Justice” trophy
in 2002. He completed his final semester of law school at the University of Houston
as a visiting scholar and was then admitted to Texas Bar in 2004.
Representative Experience
- Secured reversal of a Board of Correction for Naval Records decision. This
reversal permitted a bona fide war hero and 18 year disabled veteran to rightfully
claim his military retirement benefits.
- Assisted the City of Houston with successful million-dollar contract dispute
mediation.
- Worked as Special Assistant for Mayor Bill White of Houston, helping to
modernize and improve administrative processes in the Houston Municipal Courts.
Helped design and field the new Houston Uniform Traffic Citation. Worked
in Houston Municipal Courts prosecutor’s office.
- Served two tours as Chief of Staff at I MACE and at MCRSC, the largest
administrative command in the United States Marine Corps.
- Commanding Officer and Special Staff Officer for the Commanding General
of Marine Corps Air Bases Western Area.
- Two highly successful tours as civilian Director of U.S. Navy Morale
Welfare and Recreation programs in Canada and N.W. Florida.

Beyond the Bar
Mr. Morgan grew up in Pensacola Florida and lived there until beginning active
duty in the United States Marine Corps in 1973. He is married to Janie
L. Morgan, an accomplished RN and retired Navy Commander; they have three
daughters and one granddaughter. Colonel Morgan retired from active duty
in 2000 after completing more than thirty years of active and reserve military
service for which he was the recipient of numerous personal awards including
two Legion of Merit medals. He was recognized throughout his Marine
Corps career as an expert in Marine Corps Aviation Command and Control and
Air Defense. He was qualified at the highest levels in Radar Air defense
and Control, eventually helping to write the first ever Aviation Command
and Control Training and Readiness Manual for the Marines. He has two years
police patrol experience while serving as a Deputy Sheriff in both Escambia
and Santa Rosa counties in Florida.
Before entering law school, Mr. Morgan was employed by the U.S. Navy as Director
of NAS Pensacola’s Morale Welfare and Recreation Department where with
over 450 employees, he provided executive management expertise for a variety
of recreational activities including a 36 hole championship golf course, the
largest sailboat marina in NW Florida, child care programs and youth activities,
as well as numerous food and beverage clubs, heath and fitness programs, outdoor
adventure activities, and an aquatics program. He is an avid boater who recently
completed his OUPV licensing course for the U.S. Coast Guard with experience
sailing the Great Lakes, Pacific West Coast and in Florida waters. Steve remains
interested in preserving our maritime heritage and marine environment.
